Here are the recommended multicultural standards for MANGO curriculum.

Grade 1

CD1B-Know the differences between cultural stereotypes and reality.

 

CD1C-Be informed about cultural appreciation vs. cultural appropriation.

 

Foreign Language

 

FL1A-Understand the alphabet and list of numbers in another language.

 

FL1B-Know the days of the week, months of the year, tell the time, and how to give dates.

 

FL1C-Learn about how to describe seasons and the weather.

 

FL1D-Greet people, provide basic introductions and say thank you.

 

FL1E-Fill out personal information about yourself.

Human Rights

 

HR1A-Be able to understand the importance of consent and refrain from improper touch.

 

HR1B-Recognize the importance of respecting others, regardless of gender, race, nationality, disability, genetic information, political beliefs, religion, sexual orientation, age, or socioeconomic status.

 

HR1C-Understand the dangers of rigid gender roles for boys and girls, focusing instead on a more open idea of what each gender can do.

 

HR1D-Be aware of physical, verbal, and cyberbullying.

C1A-Students should be informed about the basic functions of local, state, and federal government.

 

C1B-Learners need to be taught about basic currency and exchange rates.
